Boiling Point, Lashae Tolbert and Toni Booth, Asia Wannamaker
Tolbert and Toni Booth is shown in the state of Pennsylvania.
The show is described as two women in neighboring apartments become fast friends before becoming sworn enemies; the women enlists their sisters as reinforcements in a war that escalates and ends in horrifically shocking violence.
Asia Wannamaker, was to spend 2 1/2 to 5 years in prison for the assault on sisters Toni and Nia Booth.
This matter arose from two incidents occurring on October 6, 2010, when Appellant and her sister Asia Wannamaker attacked sisters Toni and Nia Booth at an apartment complex in Harrisburg. (See Trial Court Opinion, 11/16/12, at 1). The Booth sisters each sustained second and third-degree burns and had to be hospitalized for a week, after Appellant and her sister threw hot water on them. Testifying on her own behalf at trial, Appellant claimed she did not arrive at the apartments until after her sister's first assault of Toni Booth. Appellant also testified that, while she was present during her sister's subsequent attack on Nia Booth, she took no part in the attack and was an innocent bystander.
At trial, Toni Booth testified that upon returning home on October 6, 2010, Appellant was in the doorway of Wannamaker's adjacent apartment and said to her, "today is your day" and "you are going to have to see me today." (N.T. Trial, 4/4/12, at 61). Shortly thereafter, Wannamaker came out of her apartment with a silver pot in her hand and threw hot water on Toni Booth, then began to attack her with the pot. Toni Booth testified, that during the attack, Appellant stood in the doorway yelling "fuck that bitch up" over and over and eventually joined the attack by kicking Booth in the head. (Id. at 67-68).
Nancy Smith, who lived across the hall from Toni Booth and Wannamaker, testified that she saw Appellant cleaning up water on the floor in front of Toni Booth's apartment, while telling another individual the police were on their way. Appellant admitted to cleaning up the water, but claimed she had no idea where it came from and that she cleaned it up because she did not want her mother to slip on it, not because police were coming.
The mother of the two convicted criminals actually put out a Change org petition titled "Mother Seeking Justice for Her Daughter" without a hint of irony or self-realization.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a habit of causing trouble with ppl and getting away with it there is ALWAYS that one person that's gonna take it to that danger zone so it's best to change your ways, tend to your on business and just live YOUR life cause the crazies are out there, IF that person is doing something they shouldn't, GOD will handle it with the true knowledge of the situation and not what we as humans THINK we know, then all will be well, TREAT OTHERS THE WAY WE WANT TO BE TREATED.
ReplyDeleteI saw the petition Mrs. Tolbert(Asia and Lashae's mother) began to defend Lashae's innocence.
ReplyDeleteI understand that Lashae should not have been sentenced when she played no part in throwing the hot water on Tony and Nia Booth.
However, how DARE you suggest that Asia was "provoked" by the non-violent non troublemaking Booth sisters when YOUR daughter Asia CLEARLY has a history of and an affinity for violence.
There is NO EXCUSE for your daughter's satanically malicious actions toward two women whose greatest threat toward her was beating on her front door?
Was your daughter's LIFE in danger at the time she threw the scalding water on the Booth sisters? Had either sister laid hands on her or held a weapon on her? I highly doubt either scenario took place. Therefore, how was your daughter PROVOKED to do what she did?
Asia's actions were evil and reckless and there is NO EXCUSE you can give to justify her actions against the Booth sisters that day.
A petition? REALLY? How DARE you try to minimize the crime committed by your daughter Asia against the Booth sisters and make your daughter Lashae out to be the victim!
The Booth sisters could have DIED from the injuries they sustained. Did you ever apologize to them or their parents for your daughter's actions? Did you even pay them a hospital visit? Or were you too busy worrying about Lashae going to jail for NOT trying to help them?
The apple certainly didn't fall from the tree. Congratulations. You successfully raised two sociopaths who have little to no regard for human life.
