The show is described as living in her family home, a woman befriends her new neighbors, only to be plunged into a nightmare of threats, violence and betrayal; after her brother steps up to protect her, blood will be spilled and lives forever shattered.   According to The Courier, Fordyce was charged with first-degree murder, and during a bench trial, Fordyce’s attorneys argued he acted in self defense. Judge David Odekirk dismissed the self-defense claim and found Fordyce guilty of voluntary manslaughter. He was sent to prison for ten years and has since been released.
