In season 2 of Fear Thy Neighbor, Home Bloody Home the fatal encounter of Deputy Streicher and Curt Thompson is depicted in Illinois.

When neighbors stand up to a bully after his dog bites their son, a grudge he's been nursing for decades finally explodes into a frenzy of violence.   

Thompson was known as the bully of Toulon and had a long history of criminal behavior. He was convicted of the murder, sentenced to death and was housed on death row, where he later killed himself (see below).
